Send the person’s name, approximate dates, places and your main question. Mention any family documents and research already completed. If a detail is uncertain, say so — we can assess which clues need checking.
What will I receive from the research?
Your agreed scope sets out the deliverables. These may include copies of located records, source references, an explanation of the findings and a family tree or report. We clarify what is included before work starts.
What budget should I allow?
Family history research projects have a minimum budget of £750. Individual document searches and specialist services are quoted separately. We review your enquiry before proposing a scope and price.
How do we agree the next step?
We review your starting information and discuss a practical research goal, the proposed work and its cost. You decide whether to proceed before research begins. If the evidence is too limited, we explain what would help.
